Hmmm, Has to be in the UK?? I sometimes buy the How-to or Tech mags from the Uk which have CD/DVDs of free/trial software - there are at least a couple which focus on Web Design and have tons of ads from hosting companies.
That said, I prefer Googling for what people are vouching for/using. Digitalpoint.com forums and Webhosting forums are two good spots, but they don't usually target hosting cos by geography.
Sorry that's I've got today, best of luck! -

Thu, June 12, 2008 - 11:20 PMo u just reminded me! i get that mag 'advanced photoshop' and it's based in the u.k. so i will check that.
and yes it should be hosted there because all his clients will be viewing it from there and the site will be faster. seems strange but i've had people in australia tell me my site is slow but over here it kicks.. i dunno... i don't speak nerd.. i just makes things look beautiful.
thanks for all the advice u guys!

Re: server/hosting in the u.k.?
Thu, June 12, 2008 - 6:54 PMThe only UK specific host that I know of *and* have worked with, is TopClass Host. Reliable service. Good communication. Not sure what your budget is limited to.

Also can help to scan netcraft.com surveys to see if/which of their top uptime hosts are in the UK.

Thu, June 19, 2008 - 8:35 AMI've heard nothing but good of 1and1.
Except for the fact that you can't determine your own usernames/passwords.
I'm terrible at remembering long strings of disconnected letters/numbers.
